Joel claims that the new Apple’s Safari for Windows takes 57 seconds to load on his new 2.33GHz Core-2-Duo laptop.
I couldn’t believe it. I fired up XP under Parallels on my Mac to give it a shot.
For the record, my Mac is a 2.16GHz Core-2-Duo MacBook Pro and I only assign 256 megs to Windows.
Safari for Windows started in under 3 seconds. How do you explain that it starts 30 times faster on my virtualized XP?
Joel’s machine’s must be ridden with viruses or something! Time to get a Mac, Joel! ![]()

It started super fast on my computer (Similar to Joel’s) … but the fonts! What’s up with the fonts!?
Hopefully, they get google gears working on that thing and the iPhone will have some sort of offline system for 3rd party apps.

Max, don’t get me wrong. I’m not a big Safari fan either! Not even on Mac.

Depuis “l’annonce” que le SDK du iPhone est Safari, je croise mes doigts pour que Google Gears soit intégré.
Ça permettrait de sauver sur les frais de données … un niveau de plus pour les applications.
